Parkwood Hall is currently a residential and day school for pupils aged 8-19 years with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and other diverse and complex needs. The pupils here are an inspiration to us all.

We are currently seeking excellent teachers who are passionate about working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs to join our highly skilled team. The roles would suit energetic and committed practitioners who can engage children and young people with SEND and continually focus on, and drive, delivery of an adapted curriculum that meets the needs of our pupils in all aspects of their learning including social development, personal needs, communication, independence and life skills.

This post is a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages

Term time plus INSET days plus 2 weeks 36 hours worked per week for 41 weeks per year. 0.9276FTE.

08:30 – 16:30, Mon – Fri (08:30 – 16:45 on Tuesdays)

Salary: Scale PO5. Salary competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience

 

Parkwood Hall Co-operative Academy (PWH) school for pupils aged 8-19 years with moderate to severe learning difficulties and other complex needs including autism and language difficulties. We are passionate about creating a culture of wellbeing where all staff and pupils are valued and supported so that we can all ‘grow, learn and flourish.’

PWH aims to provide an outstanding and supportive learning environment which challenges students to achieve success. The core learning values, which are at the centre of the curriculum, focus upon developing the student’s resilience and ability to make informed life choices.

The role involves working as part of a Trans-Disciplinary Team (TDT) to provide speech and language therapeutic support in a school setting. Key duties include conducting speech and language assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions, and developing personalised support plans for children and young people. The role also includes collaboration with staff, supporting training, ensuring adherence to legal and safeguarding standards, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the overall educational and care environment. The position requires maintaining professional standards, attending supervision, and participating in staff development activities.
