Appointment of new Principal

Back

Dear parents and carers of our students at Parkwood Hall,

I’m delighted to be able to write to you all to let you know that Governors have appointed a new Principal to start with the school year in September after Anna Mansaray leaves us at the end of this term.

Simon Collins is currently Principal of Helen Allison School, part of the National Autistic Society group of schools. I’m delighted that Simon has accepted our offer and will join us for the beginning of the new school year in September.

Simon brings with him significant experience of school leadership as well as teaching the performing arts including broadcast and digital media.  He describes his mantra as “relentless positivity”, and he is very excited by the potential that he sees at Parkwood Hall to grow our offer to meet local need more comprehensively.

We’re happy to have recruited so swiftly and this will allow Anna the opportunity to hand over to Simon effectively before she stands down at the end of the school year.

I know that you will want to give Simon a warm welcome as he joins us, as well as to wish Anna well as she leaves us after leading the school through the pandemic with such determination to keep open and continue to offer our students and their families ongoing support.

With kind regards,

Libby Blake

Chair of Governors
